This Toorak garden design was a time lapse collaboration with the clients, Architect Michael jan and Jack Merlo who had originally been commissioned to design the garden. We were called in to rethink the feel of the garden providing a less formal approach to the outdoor space. The pool was retained from jacks original landscape plan and we then re -interpreted the hard surfaces and plantings.
We spent a great deal of time consulting with the stone suppliers BAMSTONE in Port Fairy and Hendersons in Melbourne sourcing the right rocks which would make up the bespoke paving. Boulders were hand picked and cut to our specifications to create the unique paving at front entrance and rear courtyards. Boulders were then also selected to create two stone benches and a large standing stone which were craned into position on site.
Complimented by lush, flowing plantings to create an intimate space which reflects the changing seasons.
Completed in March 2013 we have a fantastic ongoing relationship with the clients and the garden as it develops.
